Shire Policies 2013

The Shire of Mundaring Policy Manual 2013 contains all the policies adopted by Council.

Policies are general rules or principles that provide clear direction to employees for the day to day management of the local government. They help to ensure that fair and equitable decisions are made and that decision making is transparent.

Policies are reviewed by Council at least once every two years (or once per electoral cycle) to ensure their relevance and compliance with relevant legislation.

Delegations Register - Adopted February 2013

The Local Government Act 1995 (the Act) allows for a local government to delegate to the Chief Executive Officer the exercise of any of its powers or the discharge of any of its duties under the Act (with limitations). All such delegations must be decided by Council by absolute majority.

The Chief Executive Officer can in turn delegate any of his powers to another employee. This must be done in writing.

A register of delegations is to be kept and reviewed at least once every financial year. The current Delegations Register was reviewed and adopted by Council on 26 February 2013.

Code of Conduct

The Code provides elected members, committee members and employees with consistent guidelines for acceptable standards of professional conduct.
It contains the specific requirements of the Local Government (Administration) Regulations 34B and 34C.

Complaints Management System (incorporating Customer Service Charter)

This Customer Service Charter explains the Shire's commitment to customer service, the public's responsibilities and process to provide feedback (positive and not so positive!).

Statutory Declaration

A Statutory Declaration Form must be completed in order to obtain any ownership details. When completing this form it must state who is requesting the information, what address details they are requesting and why they are requesting this information. If the information is for commercial purposes or gain the request will be declined without question. Statutory Declaration requests are considered by the Director of Corporate Services.

Information on authorised witnesses.
