The Shire of Mundaring uses a Postal Voting System

Electors in the Shire of Mundaring , which includes  persons on the State Residential Roll and  Shire's Owner and Occupiers Roll , will receive their Election Packages in the post  approximately 14 days prior to the  election date. If you do not receive your Election Package please contact the Shire on 9290 6666 to organise a replacement.

Once you have received your packages please complete the Ballot Paper and sign the Ballot Paper Envelope in the required format, then use the prepaid envelope to post the package back. Alternatively you can attend the Shire Administration during office hours 8:30am – 4:30pm and drop the package into the Ballot Box or alternatively you can attend the Shire Administration office up to 6pm on Election Day.

2011 Election

The 2011 Ordinary Local Government Election was held on the 15 October 2011. Elections are held every two years by the Western Australian Electoral Commission, generally for 50% of the members of every council.

Standing for Council

According to the Local Government Act 1995 an Elected Member

  • Represents the interests of electors, ratepayers and residents of the district;
  • Provides leadership and guidance to the community and the Council;
  • Participates in the local government's decision making processes at council and committee meetings; and
  • Performs such other functions as are given to a councillor by the Act or any other written law.
