Community grant rounds now open

‚ÄčA NUMBER of community grant rounds are now open with eligible community groups encouraged to submit an application.

Shire President David Lavell said the Matching Fund Grant and the Milestone Event Grant were now open for 2016.

The Matching Grant offers financial assistance up to $2000 to eligible community groups to undertake projects that involve and benefit the local community.

The Matching Grant could assist with new equipment, minor capital upgrades, promotional material and training.

The Giving Back grant provides up to $2500 to celebrate a milestone event of a volunteer community group.

"In 2015 Darlington Junior Football Club was the successful applicant of this grant and the funding assisted with their 50 year anniversary celebrations," Cr Lavell said.

"The Club used the grant money to put together a short video celebrating the club's history, which was shown at a gala event in August.

"We encourage all groups celebrating a special milestone event this year to submit an application and help enhance the occasion."

Applications close at 4pm on Friday 15 April 2016.

Funding guidelines and application forms are available from the Shire's website mundaring.smartygrants.com.au or by phoning Tracey on 9290 6678.
