Earth Hour 2016

SHIRE of Mundaring is encouraging residents to take part in Earth Hour this weekend.

Run since 2007 in Australia, Earth Hour will take place from 8.30pm – 9.30pm on Saturday 19 March.

Deputy Shire President Patrick Bertola said the Shire would be participating by flicking the switch.

"Earth Hour is a fantastic initiative to get people talking about what we can do to help our planet," he said.

"The Shire will participate by turning off non-essential lights at the Shire Administration Building. We are proud to be contributing to this event which is usually well received by the local community."

In addition to turning off lights, people are encouraged to take part in other activities or organise their own event. For more information or event inspiration, visit https://earthhour.org.au
