More than 52,000 native seedlings have been nurtured for the Shire of Mundaring's 2017 Tree Canopy and Understory Program (TCUP).
Now in its 28th year, the program is part of the Shire's commitment to provide habitat for native fauna as well as plants for residents to create water-wise, sustainable gardens.
During the program's lifespan around one million seedlings and plants have been distributed to local residents, ratepayers and community groups for planting within the Shire.
The seedlings are all local native plants and the range of species ensures that there is something to suit variations in local conditions, from trees to bird attracting garden plants.
The TCUP Species Catalogue and tips on how to plant your seedlings for best success is in the Planting Guide, available here.
Expressions of Interest (EOI) open on Monday 13 February and close on Friday 21 April, and can be downloaded here. EIO forms can also be obtained from the Shire Administration Centre and Shire libraries.
Only one submission per household is allowed and successful applicants will be notified by mail from May onwards.
The EIO is a request for seedlings and supply cannot be guaranteed.
Each year volunteers are needed to hand out seedlings from a central distribution point within the Shire - if you can help please contact Jolene Wallington on 9290 6641 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
