Incident at Lake Leschenaultia

The Shire is saddened by the tragic passing of a man at Lake Leschenaultia on Monday afternoon. As the matter is now before the coroner we can not provide any further comment on the incident.

The Shire is extremely proud of its staff and their response and we will continue to support them through this difficult time.

We are also thankful for the members of the public who fought so hard to save the man's life.

This is a very difficult situation for everyone involved and we request the privacy of those affected by the terrible loss is respected. Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of the man.

On behalf of the coroner, police are requesting anyone who witnessed the incident to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

We encourage people impacted by the incident to contact Lifeline on 131114.
