Shire of Mundaring Councillors are aware that there is some concern in the community about proposed rate increases. In order to respond to these concerns, we are willing to test proposals that would address this.
Following a series of workshops, Council has prioritised areas in which they believe a reduction in services could help achieve lower rate increases. These are genuine proposals to reduce service levels and costs with as little negative impact as possible.
Council remains open-minded about the proposals and will listen to the community's feedback.
The proposal will see the forecast rates increase of five percent in 2017/18, reduced to around three percent. This equates to an average estimated increase of $45 per year per household as opposed to $75 per year per household (for the average residential rates).
We welcome your feedback on the proposals which are currently under review. It will help shape the Shire's Corporate Business Plan and Long Term Financial Plan over the next 10 years.
Please click on Have Your Say where you will be directed to a questionnaire.
Additionally, a random telephone survey of Shire of Mundaring residents commenced on the evening of Saturday, 18 March 2017. If you receive a phone call, we encourage you to take part as we welcome all feedback on the proposals.
The survey and public comment period will close on Tuesday, 18 April 2017 at 9am.
