Push towards electronic EOI’s for tree canopy program

RESIDENTS are encouraged to use online application forms when applying for seedlings through Shire of Mundaring's Tree Canopy and Understorey Program (TCUP) in 2016.

Now in its 27th year, the program provides more than 50,000 free native seedlings to local residents, ratepayers and community groups for planting within the Shire.

Shire President David Lavell said it was pleasing to see the program return in 2016.

"This program is extremely popular with our residents who come back year after year to receive and plant their free native seedlings," he said.

"After planting and with some attention, these seedlings will grow and provide habitat for native animals, as well as helping to create waterwise and sustainable gardens.

"With a range of properties and soil types across our shire, we have seedlings suitable for all residents, ratepayers and community groups."

Cr Lavell said residents were encouraged to submit their Expression of Interest (EOI) via the Shire website.

"In an effort to save paper we are asking people to help us complete the EOI form on the Shire website," he said.

"Limited printed applications will be available at the Shire Administration Centre and Shire Libraries for those who do not have internet access."

All successful EOI applicants will be notified in May. EOI's close Friday 22 April 2016 - click here to apply. For details contact Jolene Wallington on 9290 6641 or email tcup@mundaring.wa.gov.au
