Trek bike winners all smiles

THE three winners of the Trek the Trail colouring competition were delighted to pick up their prizes recently.

As part of Shire of Mundaring's Trek events in August and September of 2016, a colouring competition was run for children aged three to 12 years.

Shire President David Lavell said there was dozens of entries submitted.

"We were really pleased with the time and effort so many children put in to try win a prize," he said.

"Mundaring Arts Centre had a tough decision judging the winners and it was very competitive.

"We are thrilled to help the lucky winners pick out their new bikes last week, which were kindly donated by Acciona Trility Joint Venture - operators of Mundaring Water Treatment Plant."

One winner from each of three age brackets was selected. The three to five year category was won by Leah Curtis (5). The six to eight years category was won by Emily Lawton (8) and the nine to 12 years category was won by Imogen Willox (11).

"Trek the Trail is such a great event which encourages people to get out and about with their families," Cr Lavell said.

"We hope the winners enjoy their bikes for a few years to come and we look forward to seeing them join us on the trail again next year."‚Äč
