Work at local park means more play

PLAYGROUND upgrades at Mundaring Lions Pioneer Park are now complete.

Located behind Mundaring Village Shopping Centre, the park's former play equipment had begun to show signs of ageing, making it difficult to use.

With the existing equipment fully replaced, the now larger playground also offers a see-saw, extra climbing apparatuses and new sand.

Shire President David Lavell said the new equipment would cater for young children through to adults.

"The playground's expanded borders and new equipment offer a more accessible play area that the whole family can enjoy," Cr Lavell said.

"The Shire is pleased to see the park, which is a much-loved community facility, modernised to ensure its continued use."

Other improvements included installation of new retaining walls around the playground and repairs to the park's reticulation system.‚Äč
