Is Your Pet in the Pound ?

What To Do When You Have Lost Your Dog
- Don't just wait for it to come back. It may be in the pound, it may be injured or it may be in someone's backyard.
- Check around your neighbourhood. Go to the places that you think your dog may visit, such as the park or nearby bush land. Check local shopping centres and schools.
- Contact the Mundaring Ranger Service as soon as possible to see if your dog has been impounded.
- Check local Veterinarians.
- Advertise in the local paper. Put up notices on shopping centre notice boards or put notices in letterboxes. Give a description of your dog and your name, address, and telephone number. Offer a reward.

What To Do When You Have Lost Your Cat
- Don't just wait for it to come back. It may be in the pound, it may be injured or it may be in someone's backyard.
- Check around your neighbourhood. Go to the places that the cat visits, such as the park, nearby bush land or your neighbours shed. Check local shopping centres and schools.
- Contact the Mundaring Ranger Service as soon as possible to see if the cat has been impounded.
- Check Animal Shelters and local Veterinarians.
- Advertise in the paper or on the radio. Put up notices on shopping centre notice boards or put notices in letterboxes. Give a description of cat and your name, address, and telephone number. Offer a reward.
- Sunrise is a good time to look for your cat, as this is when it is more likely to be on the move.
- Cats may wander a long way. Notify neighbouring Councils and Veterinarians. If you have moved recently, your cat might try to return to your former address.
- Keep looking for several weeks. Sometimes people find a cat and don't report it to the Rangers straight away, as they are worried that the cat might be destroyed.
