Unauthorised Buildings

All buildings require the issue of a Building Permit by the relevant Local Government prior to construction. If a building has been constructed without a Building Permit, the Local Government cannot issue a retrospective building approval, therefore the works carried out is deemed illegal.

Information handouts are available from the Shire.  These provide assistance and guidelines on what action the Shire needs to take should it be notified that a building has been erected, added to or altered without approval.

A request for copies of approved building plans can be made through the Shire's Administration Centre, with lodgement of the request form and payment of the appropriate fees, or a request form can be downloaded.

For more information refer to Application for Building Approval Certificate and Unauthorised Structures - July 2016.pdf.
