Roads

Gravel Roads

There are about 60kms of gravel roads in the Shire's road network. The majority of these roads are included in a formal grading program. The few roads that are not in the program are graded on a 'Request Only' basis.

Sealed Roads

A formal Road Sweeping Program is in place to improve road safety and appearance by removing possible hazards such as gumnuts, sand and gravel washed onto the road. It also reduces the number of blockages in the stormwater drainage system. Bitumen seals with potholes and edge damage are also repaired.

Street Lighting

The Shire is responsible for the cost of new street lights and the running costs of exsting street lights. Lights are provided by Western Power. If you are aware of any safety, vandalism or maintenance problems for street lighting, please telephone Western Power on 13 13 51. Reporting these incidents helps Western Power and the Shire deal with them swiftly.

Road Signs

The Shire is responsible for the installation and maintenance of
1. Street name signs,
2. 'No Through Road' signs,
3. 'Local Traffic Only' signs and
4. Directional signs
