Mundaring Community Financial Services Limited
Mundaring Community Financial Services Limited (MCFS) provides support and resources to volunteers and volunteer organisations through sponsorships, funding and project support. Some of the assistance available:

  • Mobile EFTPOS facility - an EFTPOS facility is offered at no charge so that people can pay by credit or debit cards at registration and enrolment days, or for other occasions when such facilities may be useful. The facility is available all or part of the day or evening, and is booked on a first come, first served basis.
  • Fundraising stall at Rotary’s Sunday Markets in Mundaring – a stall is hosted every month at the Sunday Market in Nichol Street, which is offered at no charge to community groups who want to run a fundraising stall. You run the fundraising stall and all the profits made are yours!
  • Fixtures books and score card partnerships – sporting groups are offered a special partnership opportunity that means that if they want to make some money for their club, MCFS provides the support for the local production of the fixtures book – and your club gets to keep the profit from advertising sales.
  • Community Resource Officers - are available to help you organisation obtain information about how to get assistance, and a short term staff member is even offered to work in your organisation
  • Grants are available for a variety of projects throughout the year.
  • Not for Profit Network - is a free network of local associations and community organisations that is supported by Mundaring Community Bank and offers an opportunity for all local Shire of Mundaring associations and community groups to get together, learn, get training and share ideas and potential partnerships from each other and the community.

Department for Communities
The
Department for Communities became operational on 1 July 2007. The Department brings together a diverse range of functions and services that share a common purpose in strengthening communities and the social fabric of Western Australia.

Avalon the Australian Volunteering Library Network
The
Australian Volunteering Library Network (Avalon) is a network of libraries across Australia specialising in resources on volunteering. The catalogue has over 7000 resources available. The collection includes books, reports, training kits, videos, government reports and journal articles. The network is run by the Volunteer Library Network Coordinator who works part time. The other libraries are run by volunteers. This means you might not receive assistance straight away but they will endeavour to help you as best as they can.

Department of Education and Training Community Service Program
The
Community Service Program aims to foster an ethos of service in young people and in this way contribute to their overall education. Through this program students must complete a minimum of 20 hours service between Years 10 and 12. From 2009, students will need to have completed 20 hours of service to gain the WA Certificate of Education (WACE).

Giving service to the community is an important value in our society. It is also an excellent way to enhance students’ learning experiences.
