Chidlow Hall

The Chidlow Hall was opened on 26th January 1905, on land set aside by the Chidlow Progress Association.  It was used for community events such as elections, church services, choir practice, card nights and even as a shooting gallery and also served as a venue to farewell and welcome home those on war service.  A new sports pavilion, built in 1995 on the adjacent oval, has relieved the pressure of providing the only public social/function space for the district away from the old hall.

Chidlow Recreation Pavilion

Copleted in March 1995 the Chidlow Recreation Pavilion is a modern function venue which is ideal for functions up to 160 people. The facility is centrally located at the Chidlow Recreation Ground, Old Northam Road, Chidlow and offers first class facilities at a very reasonable price.

Darlington Hall

Opened in 1965 and extended in 1979, Darlington Hall was originally used as wine cellars for growers in the area. After vineyard operations ceased and the land was subdivided, the cellars were renovated, extended and used as a hall for social and recreational purposes. The old wine cellars still exist under the new toilet block.  Darlington Hall is situated on Owen Road, Darlington, diagonally opposite the Pines general Store. This unique venue is ideal for a range of functions or events.

Glen Forrest Hall

The Glen Forrest Hall was built in 1958 and opened in 1960 by the Premier Mr George Hawke. This hall was considered necessary since the original agricultural hall (of distinctive octagonal design) was too small for the growing population of the area.  The Glen Forrest Hall is located on Marnie Road, Glen Forrest and with its large hall area, stage, spacious kitchen and ample parking is considered to be an ideal venue for functions catering up to 150 people.

Greenmount Hall

Built in 1956 on land bequeathed to the Mundaring Road Board for recreational use, the Hall has been a focal point for a variety of community functions and activities for many years. Previously called the Memorial Hall and Wellbourne Park Hall (after the Park it is built on), it is now simply known as Greenmount Hall.  Greenmount Hall is located on the corner of Great Eastern Highway and Scott Street, at the foot of Greenmount Hill, and is suitable for a range of functions catering up to 150 people. Ample parking is provided.

Hub of the Hills - 8 Craig Street, Mundaring - click here to view Hub Hirer's Handbook

The Hub of the Hills is an ideal venue for community groups and organisations to hold activities and events, as well as being a great place to meet friends and socialise. A commercial grade kitchen and 4 different size rooms means the Hub is suitable for small intimate groups or for functions up to 200 people.  Local groups and organisations that require a well maintained and equipped venue for hire are encouraged to contact the Hub of the Hills Coordinator to view the centre.

Mahogany Creek Hall

After a number of years of fund-raising, the Hall was constructed in 1954 with the assistance of voluntary labour from local residents. Approximately one year later the kitchen was built and in 1975 the tennis courts and playground were constructed adjacent to the Hall.  Situated on Jacoby Street, Mahogany Creek, opposite the local deli, the Hall is an ideal venue for mid size functions up to approximately 90 people.

Mount Helena Recreation Centre - Keane Street, Mount Helena

Opened in 1981, the Mount Helena Recreation Centre was one of the first school facilities designed for both school and community use.  Located on the grounds of the Eastern Hills Senior High School, the Centre provides two excellent function venues. The Lesser Hall is fully carpeted and is suitable for theatre productions and small to mid size functions, while the Main Hall is suitable for large functions of up to 400 people.

Mundaring Hall

The Mundaring Hall was opened in 1901 and at the time was only the second hall in the entire district. The first Darling Range Horticultural and Industrial Society show was held there in 1906 and dances followed the shows after exhibits were cleared away. The first Mundaring school established itself at the Hall in 1907 with the furniture being rearranged every Monday morning after weekend dances and functions. The Hall was used for classes until October 1907, when the school was built opposite the Police Station.  The Mundaring Hall is situated on Nichol Street, Mundaring opposite the local hotel. With its spacious kitchen facilities and stage, the Hall is an excellent venue for a variety of functions or activities.

Mundaring Recreation Ground Pavilion - Mundaring Weir Road, Mundaring

The Pavilion is located on the grounds previously known as the old Showground where log chops and horse races were held from 1902 onward.  Constructed in 1987 the Pavilion is part of a large recreation facility which includes the oval and basketball and netball courts. With it spacious kitchen, elevated stage, bar area and external courtyard, the Pavilion is an excellent venue for all types of parties and functions.  Additions to the pavilion were completed in 2006 extending the facility with home and away changerooms, public toilets and umpire change rooms.

Parkerville Hall

The existing Parkerville Hall, built on a former gravel pit, was constructed to replace the original dilapidated, iron walled hall and was opened in 1922 by Premier Sir James Mitchell. Local residents contributed towards the finances of its construction, which was completed with a 200 pound loan from a local storekeeper.  Close to local shopping and in the heart of Parkerville, the Hall is located on the corner of Seaborne and Riley Roads and is considered an ideal venue for functions with up to 150 people.

Parkerville Recreation Pavilion

The Parkerville Recreation Pavilion was built for use by the seasonal oval users for use during game days and it is available for hire to the community for functions and other activities.  The Pavilion is located at the Parkerville Recreation Ground on Seaborne Road and is an ideal venue for functions up to 110 people.

Sawyers Valley Hall

The original Sawyers Valley weather board Hall was built in 1914 and it stood for 50 years before being demolished. The existing Hall was opened in 1970 and in 1989 the Shire honoured World War II and Vietnam veterans by installing an Honour Roll in the meeting area of the Hall.  The Hall is situated within the Sawyers Valley Oval complex on Great Eastern Highway, Sawyers Valley and is a suitable venue for meetings and small functions up to 50 people. A children's playground is located on the far side of the oval (fenced off from the highway) and ample parking is provided in a shaded area.

Wooroloo Hall

The Wooroloo Hall was built in 1904 with help from Chidlow residents and has been extended several times to cater for the growing community. The hall has provided a focal point for social activity in the town for many years and if the walls could speak, could tell some interesting tales.  Situated on the Old Northam Road, the Hall is suitable for functions up to 140 people.
