Large Public Events and use of Public Buildings

Public events are exciting occasions for community togetherness and celebration. To ensure that these events maintain public health and safety standards the Health Service addresses the following issues:

  • Public exit from any temporary venue/ structure, in the case of an emergency.

  • Numbers of sanitary facilities and rubbish bins.

  • General safety issues.

  • Compliance of temporary food handling procedures/ premises with legislative and food safety requirements.

  • Impact of noise levels generated from the events on the surrounding neighbourhood.

  • Patronage numbers.

Further information can be obtained from the Shire's Information Service or by telephoning Health Service on 9290 6666.
