The Shire of Mundaring is committed to building a truly inclusive community that celebrates diversity and recognises the importance of including all people. We believe that by recognising the abilities and unique contributions of all members of our community, we will grow, develop and continue to be a vibrant place to live, work and visit.
Seniors Week Events (Annually)
Seniors Week is held annually and during this time, the Shire of Mundaring holds FREE events to celebrate the contribution that seniors have made to the local community.
The Shire promotes positive images of ageing by providing fun, active and interesting activities during the Shire's annual Seniors Week events. The Seniors Week Working Party, made up of individuals and representatives from local seniors' organisations are involved in all aspects of the events, from planning and promotion to delivery of the free events. Seniors Week events in the Shire of Mundaring are provided FREE, as the Shire believes in providing fun, vibrant, active and interesting activities open and accessible to all seniors.
Seniors Week 2011
Shire of Mundaring’s Seniors Week was very different for 2011! To maximise the opportunities for seniors to celebrate Seniors Week community groups were invited to run ‘Conversation Cafes’ at up to eight locations across the Shire of Mundaring on Tuesday 8 November 2011.
The Bendigo Bank Seniors Week Conversation Cafés were morning tea style events where seniors were encouraged to talk about topics of interest to them in a relaxed informal setting. The conversation cafes provided local events where seniors met and shared a cuppa with people from their own neighbourhood. The hosting community group also had the opportunity to ‘connect’ with the seniors in their locality.

Seniors Reference Group (SRG)
The Seniors Reference Group is made up of community members who work with Shire officers to provide information to the Shire about all matters related to seniors. For example, the committee identifies matters of interest, information, resources, and issues or concerns relating to seniors and provides that information through the Community Development Advisor. This work provides the Shire a valuable resource of local knowledge and community interests.
So, contact us - we value your contribution. Better still, you may like to attend our next regular SRG meeting, which is open to the public, or you may like to become a member. For further information please contact:
