SHIRE of Mundaring is calling for nominations for the annual Celebrating Community Awards (formerly Thank a Volunteer Day and Celebration of Ability Award).
Nominations are invited across a number of categories for individuals, businesses and community groups who have made a significant contribution to the local community.
The award categories include:
Rising Star (under 25)
The Rising Star Award recognises a young individual or group of young people who have made a significant contribution to their local community.
The Inspirational Volunteer Award recognises an individual or group who, through a volunteering role, has made an outstanding contribution to the local community.
The Access Mundaring Award recognises an individual or group who are making a difference by creating a more accessible and inclusive Shire of Mundaring.
The Long Service Award recognises an individual or group who are community champions, having continuously served the community in excess of ten years.
Nominees will be recognised for their achievements at a celebratory high tea on Sunday 3 December 2017 at 10am.
Furthermore, nominees will also go in the running to receive a Shire of Mundaring Citizenship Award. This award recognises individuals and groups, selected by a panel, who have made a noteworthy contribution to their community within the current year (2017), or given outstanding service to the community over a number of years through active involvement.
The Citizenship Awards will be presented in the same categories at a celebratory event on Australia Day, Friday 26 January 2018.
