SHIRE of Mundaring has received a planning proposal to guide the future sub-division of the North Stoneville Townsite.
Shire President John Daw urged interested community members, groups and businesses to read all the documents associated with the plan, known as Structure Plan 34 (SP34).
"Community input will form a key part of the decision-making process for Shire of Mundaring Councillors," he said.
Council's decision is submitted as a recommendation to the WA Planning Commission, which is the determining authority for Structure Plans.
Cr Daw confirmed that the Shire sent around 300 letters regarding the proposal to residents in surrounding areas.
In addition, a number of Councillors attended a meeting organised by residents in the local area on 18 December to ensure accurate information was available to the public and also to encourage community input in the feedback process.
Notice of Structure Plan 34 has been shared to several social media sites and advertised in the local newspaper.
"I am pleased to say that the community is responding to the opportunity to provide feedback to Council," Cr Daw said.
All documents pertaining to the Structure Plan can be found on the Shire's website (www.mundaring.wa.gov.au) or by clicking the link here.
Comments can be lodged on line, by post or by email. The online submission form can be found here. Feedback can also be made via email firstname.lastname@example.org or via post to Shire of Mundaring Attn: Planning Services 7000 Great Eastern Hwy, Mundaring WA 6073.
It is anticipated the matter will be presented to Council at its March meeting.
