Shire of Mundaring is collecting feedback from community, business and industry in an effort to provide ongoing support where it's needed most during the coronavirus pandemic.
The COVID-19 Impact Survey, which is now open, invites residents, representatives from local groups and business owners in the shire to answer eight questions about their current concerns and experiences in relation to COVID-19.
Chief Executive Officer Jonathan Throssell said the survey would supplement feedback collected from initial questionnaires in April and May, to provide the Shire with a more timely understanding of current community needs and aspirations.
"As a local government, it is important that we regularly engage with our residents, businesses and industry because it helps us understand the most significant issues affecting our community and whether these are changing over time," he said.
"By taking just a few short minutes to complete this survey, respondents can provide us with valuable feedback, which will help inform Shire decision-making and planning for long-term relief and recovery."
The April/May surveys highlighted economic impact as a significant cause of concern with community health and wellbeing also recognised as extremely important.
"The Shire remains committed to supporting our community through this challenging time and I am pleased to say that a number of measures have already been put in place to ease the local economic, health, social and other impacts of coronavirus," Mr Throssell said.
"In particular, it's fantastic to see a number of local not-for-profit groups and businesses already benefitting from the Shire's largest ever community grants program; the Recover Together COVID-19 Relief and Recovery Fund," he added.
A Financial Hardship Policy, recorded skills and training webinars, community newsletter, and a virtual community hub are among a number of other recovery initiatives delivered by the Shire.
The COVID-19 Impact Survey will be open for two weeks until Tuesday 8 September and can be accessed via Engage Mundaring.
