Businesses and enterprises within the Shire of Mundaring who were impacted by the recent snap COVID-19 lockdown can apply for $2K grants from the State government.
The Small Business Lockdown Assistance Grants program will provide one-off targeted, support to small businesses Perth and Peel to help cover some direct costs and lost bookings due to cancellations and closures.
Shire of Mundaring Chief Executive Officer, Jonathan Throssell, encouraged local business owners to check if they were eligible.
"The grant is designed to assist a wide range of sectors including hospitality, catering and staging, fitness, hair and beauty and creative and performing arts," he said.
"Registrations of interest are now open through the Small Business Development Corporation with eligible businesses able to lodge an application later this month.
Eligible businesses with an Australia-wide payroll of less than $4 million and registered for GST purposes can apply.
Businesses must be able to demonstrate losses incurred for items such as perishable goods, cancellations or other unforeseen costs as a result of the lockdown.
Grants will be distributed in June and July.
Small Business Minister, Reece Whitby, urged eligible businesses to begin preparing evidence of any losses in anticipation of applications opening later this month.
The program will be jointly managed by the Small Business Development Corporation and the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries.
