Shire of Mundaring Council will hold a Special Council Meeting to decide on the preferred conceptual option for a multi-purpose Community Centre as part of its commitment to revitalising the town centre.
Shire President John Daw said he was delighted that the project was progressing towards the next stage.
"The town centre is at the heart of our community and I am looking forward to seeing this important community project progress," he said.
"Community input into this multifaceted project will be essential to success, and we are committed to engaging with the community and stakeholders throughout the life of the project.
"I strongly encourage interested community and business owners to come along to this meeting to find out more about this exciting project."
The report - prepared by consultants and called Mundaring Multi-purpose Community Facility, Community Needs Analysis and Land Assembly Options and Constraints - provides details for four conceptual options.
A key component of the proposal is the rationalisation of the existing built facilities and current land uses into a proposed new Multi-purpose Community Facility (MPCF). This facility will house the replacement Albert Facey Memorial Library, as well as providing for service delivery by not-for-profit groups and government agencies.
The Special Council Meeting will be held in the Council Chamber at 6.30pm on Tuesday 27 October.
The meeting will be livestreamed. The agenda and associated documentation for the meeting can be viewed here or by visiting the Shire Administration or Shire Libraries.
Members of the public wishing to attend the meeting are advised that there is limited capacity for members of the public to attend this meeting due to the COVID-19 public health emergency. Physical distancing restrictions will apply.
Restricted viewing will be available from the Civic Area adjacent to the Council Chamber.
The Civic Area is restricted to a maximum number of 48 members of the public.
Public Question Time and Deputations will be able to be made to Council from the Civic Area.
