Young people in the Shire of Mundaring are invited to get their neon glow on these school holidays.
Mundaring Arena will become a bright dance space on Saturday 2 October as the Shire's Youth Advisory group, known as the Youth C.R.E.W., delivers its first disco event.
Shire of Mundaring Chief Executive Officer, Jonathan Throssell, said the free event for 12 to 17 year olds was a fun opportunity for social connection.
"The fully supervised Let's Glow disco will feature live DJs, a chill zone, glow in the dark face painting and concert lighting," he said.
Mr Throssell said the Youth C.R.E.W. was thrilled to be organising the event, with C.R.E.W. members honing important skills such as events planning, research, team work, communication, budgeting and negotiation.
"A purpose of the Youth C.R.E.W is to work with the community to encourage and create opportunities for young people to participate and engage," he said. "One of the ways to achieve this goal is through events and activities and this is something our community has been asking for.
"This event is being planned by young people, for young people and sounds absolutely fantastic."
While the event is free, tickets are required and can be booked via Eventbrite website.
Doors open at 7pm with activities running until 10pm. All attendees must be collected by 10.15pm.
Disco goers must be dropped off and collected by a responsible adult. There will be no passes outs. If anyone needs to leave early, they must be signed out by a parent or guardian.
External food and drink will not be permitted however food and drink will be sold at the kiosk on the night.
