Registering your furry friend in Shire of Mundaring has become much easier thanks to an online application process for new pet registrations.
Pet owners were previously only able to renew their pets' registration online whereas all new registrations had to be completed in person.
The service offers residents and ratepayers greater flexibility as they can renew their pet registration from the comfort of their own home.
By law, all dogs aged over three months must be registered and microchipped and all cats over six months must be registered and microchipped.
The online process also allows for other relevant documents to be submitted such as confirmation of microchip and sterilisation.
There is an option for residents to register their pets for life in order to save time and costs associated with annual renewals.
For more information about online pet registration, go to the Shire's website www.mundaring.wa.gov.au, click on 'Services', then go to 'Ranger Services', followed by 'Animal Registrations. Alternatively, click here for a direct link to the page.
If you don't have access to a computer, you can attend the following Shire facilities and use the computer services provided to register your pet: Hub of the Hills (Wednesday morning), Katharine Susannah Prichard Library and Albert Facey Memorial Library during opening hours.
