LOCAL and visiting soccer players are set to benefit, with upgrades to a Mundaring soccer oval nearly complete.
Harry Riseborough Oval in in Mundaring has undergone a number of recent improvements.
This includes the installation of two change rooms and an accessible ablution near the existing facilities. The facilities are housed in one transportable and this creates separate male and female change rooms.
Shire President David Lavell said there were a number of other upgrades completed.
"Both existing change rooms have also been refurbished and there's new LED lighting in the pavilion and improved water supply pressure," Cr Lavell said.
"In the coming year, there will be further power and lighting upgrades and a verandah extension will also be carried out."
The upgrades are expected to encourage more female players at Perth Hills United Football Club, which is the main user of the facilities.
The total cost of the project is $320,000. Department of Sport and Recreation is contributing $102,000 towards the upgrades through a CSRFF grant, with Perth Hills United Football Club contributing $8000.
"This project will support local players for generations to come and create a more enjoyable playing experience," Cr Lavell said.
"We are proud to support players young and old to stay fit and active."
