SHIRE of Mundaring residents are encouraged to play a role in shaping the future of their local community.
The Shire is developing its strategic plan, "Mundaring 2030" which will outline the community's long term vision, values, aspirations and priorities for the next 10 years.
Shire President John Daw urged people to have their say during the development of the plan through participating either online or in a workshop.
"Here is a chance for all Shire residents and businesses to have a voice in what happens within our community, Cr Daw said."
Shire of Mundaring has a new user friendly online engagement portal, known as Engage Mundaring, and is seeking people to participate in the feedback process by completing up to four online tasks.
"The engagement portal makes it easier for local residents to share their vision, and aspirations for the next 10 years," Cr Daw said.
The catalyst for creating the Engage Mundaring portal was due to an identified need for community members to have their say at a time and place convenient to them.
Additionally the Shire is holding community workshops throughout August and residents and businesses are able to register their attendance through the portal.
"In order to bring our community together for Mundaring 2030 and ensure we are working toward a shared vision for the future, I strongly encourage everyone to be part of the strategic community plan engagement process whether it's through the Engage Mundaring portal or in person at the workshops" Cr. Daw said.
Consultation for "Mundaring 2030" closes on 22 August and a draft plan will be developed and available for public comment via the Engage Mundaring portal in December. The final document is expected to be provided to Council in February 2020.
