The Shire's 'Summer of Entertainment Community Events Series', got underway at Mundaring's Sculpture Park Amphitheatre on Sunday 1 December with the first in a series of Twilight Tunes concerts.
Perth based Indigenous choir Madjitil Moorna delighted the audience as the first act to perform.
Led by Aboriginal performers and songwriters, Madjitil Moorna sang a number of contemporary Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander songs including some in local Noongar language. The talented choir was supported by charismatic Indigenous singer songwriter Phil Bartlett whose music could only be described as 'heart-felt' and straight from the soul.
A week later the family fun continued with Cinema Under Starlight featuring 'Get Santa' at the Boya Oval. Free pre-show fun included face painting and a visit by Santa himself!
The exciting 'Summer of Entertainment Community Events Series' resumes in the new year with the following events on offer:
11 January: Mary Poppins Returns (G)
26 January: Australia Day concert and light show
16 February: Cool Summer with Mundaring Folk 'n' Blues Club
22 February: Secret Life of Pets 2 (PG)
1 March: Jazz in the Park featuring tARQ
7 March: Dumbo (PG)
