FOLLOWING the success of school holiday activities run in July, Shire of Mundaring is once again offering a range of fun activities for local young people in the September and October school holidays.
The program kicks off at Darlington Skate Park on 25 September with the first of two all-ages skate clinics run by Skateboarding WA, with the second clinic to follow at Mount Helena on 5 October.
Other activities to try include:
- a Perth Parkour workshop run at Mundaring Sculpture Park for ages 12+
- a Christmas art activity run by Mundaring Arts Centre (MAC) with artist Mary Ann Dawson at the Swan View Youth Centre (SVYC) for ages 8+
- an Urban Art workshop run by MAC with artist Dan Duggan at SVYC for ages 12+
- two hip-hop dance workshops held at SVYC for ages 12+
The Shire's manager libraries and community engagement, Shannon Foster, said the school holiday program, run in conjunction with various artists and organisations, was a good way to keep young minds and bodies active over the school break.
"There are a variety of activities on offer to keep young people engaged mentally, physically and socially over the holidays," said Ms Foster.
"The workshops are not only a lot of fun but they're a great way to try something new and maybe even discover a new hobby or hidden talent!"
