Summer of Entertainment is back in 2021

Summer in the Hills is buzzing with activity with seven great community events coming to a venue near you in 2021.

Shire of Mundaring in partnership with Lotterywest will deliver three free music events as part of its Twilight Tunes program, with Cinema under Starlight to be delivered by four local school communities.

Twilight Tunes 2021 has been expanded in response to feedback from last summer's events and the changing needs of our community.

With a focus on creating safe environments in which to connect and celebrate, the events program will deliver a range of activities for families; older or isolated residents and young people.

Great Aussie BBQ, Saturday, 23 January

The Great Aussie BBQ will kick off from 5pm at Sculpture Park.

Celebrating our local "Aussie" lifestyle with live music, a sausage sizzle and lots of outdoor fun, this event is all about family, friends and connecting to our community.

The event will include live music performances by Madjitil Moorna community choir; local musician Ben Bulla, and the Mucky Duck Bush Band in the Amphitheatre.

There will be bouncy castles for all ages; a silent disco and Bubble-ology activity.

Keep an eye out for the Mundaring Volunteer Fire and Rescue and Cadets and Horsepower Hills from the trail to the lawn area and the Shire will add extra lighting so the playground can be used once the sun goes down.

Pack a picnic, pick up some takeaway from a local business or grab a sausage sizzle and drink from the Mundaring Resident and Ratepayers community stall. Then sit back and enjoy an evening on our green with family and friends.

Twilight Tunes concert, Sunday, 28 February

Building on the success of the 2020 concerts, Twilight Tunes is returning with a fantastic line-up planned for Sunday 28 February.

Sculpture Park will resound with hip jazz tunes and concert goers are encourged to pack a picnic and find a spot on the lawn terraces of the Amphitheatre.

The line up includes an evening of electric jazz with performances by:

  • Rubaclava, a local band with a vision to bring the infectious energy of a swingin' big band to contemporary audiences through its unique Jungle Jazz; and

  • Sassafras, Perth's premier Gypsy Jazz band featuring Pete Jeavons, Lachlan Gear, Aaron Deacon, Adrian Galante and Jessie Gordon.

These seasoned performers will deliver a not to be missed concert.

The concert starts at 5pm.

Please note: Full height chairs are only allowed on the top tier of the amphitheatre. Low back, beach/concert chairs are allowed on the middle tiers.
