How do I enrol for vacation swimming (VacSwim) lessons at Bilgoman Aquatic Centre?

How can I enrol in Series 2 VacSwim Lessons (Monday 13 – Friday 24 January 2020)?

Late enrolments will be taken at 11am on Sunday 12 January at Bilgoman Aquatic Centre. Places are limited and are on a first come, first served basis (to ensure a place it is recommended you complete an online enrolment earlier in the year through the Department of Education website).

Who can enrol?

Anyone aged 5 years and over can enrol in VacSwim. Local community children and teenagers participate in VacSwim lessons to improve their swimming ability, with classes from beginner's right through to Bronze Medallion.

Is the pool open for public swimming while VacSwim lessons are being held?

Yes, Bilgoman Aquatic Centre is open, with public space restricted to half of the main pool and one lap lane. VacSwim lessons use half of the main pool and some of the leisure pool during class times.

Are the dive boards and slide open during VacSwim lessons?

The dive boards and slide may be closed at times during VacSwim classes as higher stages need to use the deep water of the dive pool.

Are there any lap lanes available for lap swimming during VacSwim lessons?

There is one lap lane available for lap swimming during VacSwim classes.

What is the best time for lap swimming at Bilgoman?

Ideal times are early in the morning or in the evening. The lanes are widened from 5.30am-8.30am on weekdays and from 7am-8.30am on weekends and public holidays. After 6pm when the pool is quieter, 2 lanes are available for lap swimming. Between 11am and 5pm on weekends and public holidays the lane ropes are removed.

Do I need to book for parties/social gatherings?
