The North Stoneville townsite is an area of undeveloped 'Urban' zoned land north of the existing Stoneville townsite.
In December 2018, Satterley lodged a structure plan application (SP34) with the Shire for assessment. The Shire's role is to collate the views from key state agencies and the community and consider the merits of the structure plan relative to the planning framework.
In August 2019, Council resolved to recommend the WAPC reject the proposed modified SP34 for, amongst other reasons, community safety (inadequate surrounding road network and bushfire risk), lack of public transport and environmental impacts.
SP34 was refused by the Statutory Planning Committee at its meeting of 14 July 2020, (refer to the minutes here: https://online.dplh.wa.gov.au/PAM/view.asp?d=Statutory%20Planning%20Committee).
It is understood Satterley have subsequently lodged an appeal with the State Administrative Tribunal.
