"Photography is the story I fail to put into words"

Rediscover the beauty of the Mundaring hills through your camera lens and help us celebrate and promote our unique and inspiring spaces.
If you live in the Shire of Mundaring or City of Swan, showcase your artistic flare through the Explore and Expose Photography Competition, open from Thursday 18 June 2020.
Known for short as the 'E2 Challenge', the competition is a partnership project between the Shire, Mundaring Arts Centre (MAC) and Mundaring Camera Club.
This year, with the support of Neami National (Metropolitan Suicide Prevention Coordinators), the project has expanded and invites you to explore the beautiful Perth hills and foothills in the Shire of Mundaring and expose what inspires you and connects you to your community.
The E2 Challenge is a wonderful means of showcasing local talent and our beautiful spaces while supporting positive mental health and wellbeing in our community, sharing joy through:
Rediscovery of the wonderful place in which we live;
Connection with others through a shared interest; and
The "challenge" of learning or improving photography skills.
Budding photographers looking to learn new skills or improve their knowledge can register for one of the two free photography workshops. Facilitated by professional photographers the workshops will be run through the Mundaring Arts Centre during the July school holidays. It is not an entry requirement to take part, but rather an opportunity to enhance skills and connect with other avid photographers in the community.
To enter the competition, submit up to three photos by Monday, 17 August via the Mundaring Arts Centre website. There is so much natural and built beauty to discover from native forests and creeks to our many trails, parks and scenic views to iconic buildings and businesses that sit at our community's heart.
The competition is open to all amateur photographers and split into two categories;
With a total prize pool of more than $2,000 to spend at local businesses, there are lots of great prizes to be won. Plus, the artwork from up to 32 finalists will be displayed in a public art exhibition at Boya Community Centre, with prizes awarded at the official VIP opening on R U Ok Day, Thursday, 10 September 2020.
At a time when our community needs support most, the E2 Challenge encourages both visitors and locals to get out and explore the Shire of Mundaring and to connect with others. If you, or someone you know, needs help please reach out. For a list of support available click here.
