Results from Shire of Mundaring’s Community Perceptions Survey have been published, with 80 per cent of residents and business owners satisfied with the Shire’s facilities and services.

Conducted every two years, the survey measures overall satisfaction against different aspects of the Shire’s performance.

Over 900 community members, including 183 local business owners, participated in online and phone surveys during September 2021.

Acting Chief Executive Officer, Shane Purdy, said survey results would help guide the Shire's strategic direction when preparing the Strategic Community Plan and Corporate Business Plan.

“We were pleased to learn that our ability to provide good quality services and the Shire’s positive reputation are seen as key strengths,” he said.

“Future priorities for the Shire include seeking ways to improve the community’s perception regarding the value of services and facilities we provide for the rates and other fees they pay; understanding how we can enhance communications about local issues; and better investment in the regions.”
