Over $23,000 in grant funding was awarded to 10 community groups across the Shire of Mundaring by the Shire’s Grant Selection Committee last week.
Three Community Event and seven Matching Grants were awarded as part of the Shire’s first round of 2022-23 Community Event and Matching Grants.
Shire President James Martin said a total value of $23,585.33 was distributed to community groups to run community events and for general equipment.
“The Shire is pleased to support community groups in another round of grant funding,” he said.
“This round we have supported community groups to run events in Glen Forrest later in the year.
“Other groups have received grants for various activities including professional development, signage, equipment, and uniforms which will assist in the operation of their clubs.”
The Community Event Grant awards up to $5000 for groups wishing to run fetes, festivals, markets, sporting/recreational carnivals, exhibitions, small performances and training related to the event.
The Matching Grant awards up to $2000 for projects meeting the needs of the local community including equipment, minor capital upgrades, promotional material and training.
The grants are offered twice per financial year (subject to availability of funds), with the next round opening in February 2023.
