COVID-19 is a crisis that is rapidly changing our way of life. We need to work together as a community to support each other through these very difficult times.
In everything we do, Council is closely following the advice of the State and Federal governments to ensure we are part of a coordinated approach to deal with Covid-19.
I urge you to visit the Shire's website and Facebook page to keep well informed of changes to Shire services and facilities. Please share this information with your neighbours who may not have access to the internet.
Our community is our strength and we encourage you to stay in touch and support each other at this time.
Shire of Mundaring has had to change the way we do business.
The Shire's Critical Incident Team is meeting daily to implement actions, including the temporary closure of services and facilities, to ensure the continued safety of our community.
Daily decision making allows us to be responsive to the changing situation and adjust accordingly.
We are working hard to deliver services to the community in a different way so vital information and key services continue.
Covid-19 will have an enormous social impact on our community. This requires a whole of community response. We have seen wonderful examples of our Hills community, businesses and individuals coming together to support and help each other.
Over the coming weeks and months, we will see people work together to help those in need and develop other ways of connecting and supporting each other.
Council is investigating how we deliver community health and wellbeing initiatives to reduce the impacts of social isolation.
Please let us know about any community initiatives so we can keep our community informed of new networks and support systems.
We are seeing and feeling the impact on our local businesses, who are already suffering. I urge you to make even more of an effort to buy locally.
The business community is responding to this crisis and delivering their services and products in innovative ways.
Meanwhile, we are urgently developing plans to support businesses and community. I encourage you to contact your local Councillor as we would like to hear what measures would help you at this time.
Thank you for your understanding and support and for looking out for each other. We will keep you updated as things change.
