This week marks the start of National Volunteer Week (Monday 18 May to Friday 24 May) and this year's theme is 'Changing Communities. Changing Lives'.
We would like to extend our appreciation to, and acknowledge the generous contribution of all our volunteers in the Shire of Mundaring.
Shire President Councillor John Daw said National Volunteer Week was a great way to thank all the volunteers who have been helping the community cope and recover during the COVID-19 pandemic.
"This year's theme really resonates with our volunteers as they have dedicated their time to help and support our more vulnerable community members," he said.
"I am proud of all the volunteers who have sacrificed their time to contribute and make a positive change to people's lives and build a better connected community."
National Volunteer Week is an annual celebration organised through Volunteering Australia to recognise the substantial contribution of Australia's six million volunteers.
Due to COVID-19, the Shire cannot proceed with an annual event to celebrate our volunteers, and instead have promoted a video thanking them for their outstanding work and commitment.
