LOCAL residents can once again enjoy free, outdoor movies close to home this summer with the return of the Shire's popular Cinema Under Starlight series.
Beginning in the school holidays, five movies will be screened at local ovals and parks in January, February and March.
"What better way is there to spend a summer's night than watching a movie under the stars with your family and friends?" said Cr Daw.
The series has grown increasingly popular in recent years with some screenings drawing audiences of more than 500 people in 2017.
"It is with great pleasure that the Shire can once again offer this fun, free activity to the community," said Cr Daw.
"This year's season is made possible thanks to the support of Lotterywest, Linley Valley Pork, Acciona Trility Joint Venture, and the Mundaring Community Bank Branch of Bendigo Bank."
The 2018 program includes the following movie screenings:
Saturday 13 January (Glen Forrest) – The Guardians of the Galaxy 2 (M)
Saturday 27 January (Chidlow) – Moana (PG)
Saturday 17 February (Mundaring) – Cars 3 (G)
Saturday 3 March (Parkerville) – The Big Sick (M)
Saturday 17 March (Wooroloo) – Despicable Me 3 (PG)
Gates open at 6.30pm for an 8pm start. Pre-movie entertainment will be provided before each screening and a selection of food and refreshments will be available for purchase. Movie-goers are welcome to bring a blanket or low-backed chairs to sit on.
Details of each screening will be posted on the Shire Facebook page. Simply follow the Shire on Facebook @ShireofMundaring or call 9290 6678 for more information.
