SHIRE of Mundaring residents will soon have the choice of two locations to recycle suitable household items thanks to a new reuse shop in Mundaring.
Grab n Go @ Coppin, which is housed in an adapted sea container, will open its doors to the community on Saturday, 29 June.
Located at the Coppin Road Waste Transfer Station in Mundaring, it is expected that the new reuse shop will follow the success of the Shire's first Grab n Go @ Mathieson which opened two years ago.
The sea container has foldable front doors, when opened will provide a space where items can be viewed.
Residents can browse the items on show and take anything for free that they may have a use for. The purpose of the shop is to encourage recycling and repurposing of items, both of which are great for the environment.
It is open during normal transfer station opening hours and residents with a transfer station pass can access Grab n Go @ Coppin.
Residents are encouraged to speak to the transfer station employees about items that may be suitable for reuse.
Kitchenware, bicycles, small items of furniture, tools, equipment, toys and games are among items which may be accepted;
Electronic appliances, TVs computers, mattresses, sofas, carpet and tyres are not accepted.
For more information call 9290 6666 or visit Shire of Mundaring website.
Please note: Access to the Shire's waste transfer stations is limited to Shire of Mundaring residents. Access can only be gained with a waste transfer station entry pass which is distributed in the annual Rates Pack. If you are a tenant leasing your property, you will need to get the original pass from the owner or managing agent.
