Shire of Mundaring Chief Executive Officer Jonathan Throssell has been elected as Deputy President of Local Government Professionals Australia.
Mr Throssell was endorsed alongside City of Victor Harbor CEO Victoria MacKirdy (South Australia), who was elected President at the National Board meeting on 26 August.
As the peak body representing local government professionals in Australia, the National Board consists of Directors from each state and territory, providing a holistic view of the local government sector nationally.
The organisation aims to build better Australian communities by:
- advocating on behalf of local government professionals and organisations;
- building opportunities through programs and events around Australia and abroad; and
- nurturing productive relationships and innovative thinking through extensive networks.
Mr Throssell said he was proud and humbled by the appointment.
"I have a strong passion for local government and those professionals who work in the sector," he said.
"I look forward to contributing to our association as part of a strong National Board, and do what I can to support our new National President, Victoria McKirdy," he said.
