Prohibited burning period begins on December 1

AS another hot, dry summer approaches, Shire of Mundaring is reminding residents that the Prohibited Burning Period begins on Sunday 1 December 2019.

Shire of Mundaring Chief Executive Officer Jonathan Throssell urged all residents to have a Bushfire Plan in place for this summer and beyond.

"Recent events in the Eastern States remind us all how quickly a fire emergency can take hold," he said.

"If you see smoke or fire, don't hesitate to call 000. Calling local fire brigades or the Shire can use up precious time to respond and every minute counts in a fire emergency."

The Prohibited Burning Period runs from 1 December until 31 March inclusive, subject to conditions. During this time, no burning is allowed.
