Shire of Mundaring - Local Election Update

SHIRE of Mundaring local government council elections will be held on Saturday 21 October 2017.

Residents with a local address who are on the State electoral roll are automatically eligible to vote. People who own or occupy property within the local government area were able to apply to vote by enrolling on the Owners and Occupiers roll before 1 September.

Shire President David Lavell said while voting in a local government election is not compulsory, all electors are encouraged to have their say.

"Voting in your Council election is the most significant way you can influence the democratic process at the local level," Cr Lavell said.

"I encourage anyone who is eligible to vote to firstly listen to what the candidates have to say in the lead-up to the election. Most importantly I encourage people to take the time to lodge their votes."
