Sculpture Park in Mundaring will come alive at twilight on Saturday 23 January with a range of family friendly entertainment, live music and outdoor fun, running from 5 to 9pm.
Shire President and Councillor John Daw said the Great Aussie BBQ is the first of seven great free community events on the Summer of Entertainment calendar.
"Pack a picnic, pick up a local takeaway, or purchase a sausage sizzle and drink from the Mundaring Resident and Ratepayers community stall, and sit back and enjoy a night on the green connecting with family and friends."
With funding from Lotterywest, this year's event boasts an exceptional line-up of live music performances by Madjitil Moorna community choir; local musician Ben Bulla, and the Mucky Duck Bush Band in the Amphitheatre.
There is fun for all ages with bouncy castles, silent disco, face painting and giant bubble activity by the lawn. As always, the Sculpture Park's playground is a premier attraction.
"After a challenging year in 2020, this event is the perfect way to bring family, friends, neighbours and the wider community together to reconnect and celebrate our great Australian outdoor lifestyle.
"We are fortunate to live in a shire with such a beautiful natural environment. We invite our residents to come together and celebrate all the things that make our community great including our balmy summer nights and supportive community connections," added Shire President Councillor John Daw.
