Darlington History Group Chair Val Shiell and Shire President Cr James Martin had the pleasure of unveiling the Darlington Honour Roll at an event held on 10 September.
The project undertaken by the Darlington History Group commemorates Darlington residents who served in World War II, Korea, Malaya, Vietnam and Post Vietnam. Local men and women who served in the Australian Defence force have been acknowledged for the first time through this significant project.
The Honour Board is a way for residents to remember the families who lost loved ones who died serving their country and acknowledges the contribution of the Darlington community.
The Honour Board will sit alongside the WW I Honour Board in the Darlington Main Hall foyer.
The Honour Board Project was proudly supported by the Australian Government Department of Veterans’ Affairs, Darlington History Group and Shire of Mundaring. Thank you to the Darlington History Group for overseeing this project and for delivering an outstanding unveiling ceremony and commemorative event.
