An open day at the Mt Helena Aquatic Centre is set to make waves next month, with local residents invited to ‘dive into’ the fun.

The Centre will open for free to the public on Saturday 19 November to celebrate the start of the 2022 summer swim season with games, activities and prizes up for grabs from 12pm to 4pm.

Shire President James Martin said residents are invited to pack a picnic and bring their friends and family along to enjoy an afternoon by the pool. 

“This year, Council agreed to open the Mt Helena Aquatic Centre earlier with extended opening hours as part of a one-year trial to extend the public season,” he said.

“The Mt Helena Aquatic Centre officially opened to the public for the season on Saturday 15 October.  

“To celebrate the extended season, residents are invited to this family friendly open day.”
