Over $23,000 in grants awarded to community groups

Twelve community groups have been awarded funds for activities that benefit their group, and the broader community, from Shire of Mundaring’s Community Grants Program.

Three Community Event Grants totalling $11,096, eight Matching Grants worth $9940 and one 

Milestone Grant worth $2500 were recently awarded by the Shire’s Grants Selection Committee. 

Shire President James Martin said the Shire received 11 applications in the second round of the 2021-2022 Community Event and Matching Grants and three applications for the annual Milestone Event Grant.

“Congratulations to our community groups who were successful in securing a grant,” he said.

“This year, two community groups, the Eastern Hills Netball Association and the Swan View Football Club were awarded grants to help mark extraordinary milestones – their 60th anniversaries. 

“The Eastern Hills Netball Association was awarded a $3861 Community Event Grant for the occasion. 

A celebration event was held at the Mundaring Arena on 30 April to thank members, volunteers and the extended netball community for their support over the years.”

The Swan View Football Club was awarded a Milestone event grant of $2500 and will celebrate their 60th anniversary with a family fun day. The date is yet to be set.

The Darlington Pony Club and Swan View Football Club were awarded Matching Grants for First Aid kits, while Mundaring Junior Football Club received funding for a water fountain at the Mundaring Recreation Ground.

2020/22 Round Two Community Event and Matching Grant recipients

Community Event Grants: 

  • Darlington Community Garden - 2022 Darlington Community bonfire event 
  • Eastern Hills Netball Association – 60th Anniversary Family Fun Day
  • Hills Billy Carts Inc. – 2022 Hills Billy Cart Festival 

Matching Grants: 

  • Mundaring Toy Library – promotional material and new shelving 
  • Darlington Pony Club – First Aid kits and First Aid training 
  • Chidlow Junior Football Club – iPads to record game data 
  • Swan View Football Club – First Aid supplies, signage and iPads to record game data 
  • Mundaring Netball Club – laptop and external hard drive 
  • Mundaring Junior Football Club – water foundation 
  • Parkerville Playgroup – printer ink, paper and laminator 
  • Darlington Family Playgroup – replace boundary fencing and security cameras 

Milestone Grant:

  • Swan View Football Club – to hold a 60th anniversary family fun day

2022/2023 Community Event and Matching Grants 

The Shire’s Community and Matching grants are offered twice per financial year, subject to availability of funds.

The first round of the 2022/2023 Community Event and Matching Grants will open on Friday 20 May. 

Groups interested in applying for a grant must refer to the funding guidelines on the Community Grants Program page.

Before applying, all applicants must discuss their eligibility, options and ideas with the Community Capacity Building Officer on 9290 6678.

Applications close on Monday 20 June.
