Senior residents in the Shire of Mundaring are invited to a Safe-Tea Fair on Tuesday 14 June from 12pm to 2.30pm at the Boya Community Centre.

The fair is a free Stay on Your Feet event, educating seniors on how to prevent falls in their home.

Shire President James Martin said seniors were invited to hear talks from guest speakers in the health industry.

“We have a line-up of resourceful guest speakers including one from Occupational Therapy Services Group who will discuss how seniors can make their homes safer to prevent falls,” he said.

“The Perth Podiatrists will chat about foot health and Optometry WA will discuss the importance of eye health.”

In partnership with Injury Matters

The event is supported by the Shire of Mundaring and City of Kalamunda in partnership with Injury Matters.

Cr Martin said the Shire had partnered with Injury Matters on various projects over the past two years and was proud to support their Remove Hazards program this year.

“These are vital programs for our senior residents to tap into,” he said. “They allow the sharing of information and for our community to connect with health professionals.”

Afternoon tea will also be provided.
