Volunteer organisations and young people seeking financial support to represent their club in an activity can now apply for funds from Shire of Mundaring.

Applications for the Shire’s Youth and Volunteer Recognition Event grants are now open until 16 June 2023.

Volunteer Recognition Event Grant

The Volunteer Recognition Event Grant awards $300 to volunteer-based organisations for activities and celebrations that benefit their members and to recognise the contribution volunteers make to the group.‚Äč

Youth Grant

The Youth Grant assists young people aged 8 to 18 years who have been selected to represent their club or institution at events or activities including sport and recreation, technology, arts, community service, culture and environment.

Shire President James Martin said the two grants were offered annually as part of the Shire’s Community Grants Program.

“The Shire’s Youth Grants and Volunteer Recognition Event Grant have funded some interesting activities in the past,” he said.

“In the 2021/22 grant round, eight Volunteer Recognition Event Grants were awarded to community groups including the Mount Helena Community Kindergarten  and Playgroup to host a morning tea to thank volunteers for their contribution to running the facility.”

Earlier this year, the Shire awarded a $200 Youth Grant to a 14 year old student from Swan View to compete at the Australian Taekwondo National Championships in Brisbane.
