Restricted Burning Period starts Monday 6 May

The Shire is now in Restricted Burning period. Residents may burn a 1sqm pile of garden refuse at a time, during the hours of 6pm and 11pm. Permits to Burn are not yet available. Visit the Burning Periods and Fire Danger Rating page to read the conditions.

The Mundaring and Hills Historical Society (MHHS) was formed in 1989 to preserve the natural and cultural heritage of the Shire of Mundaring.

The museum is managed by the Mundaring and Hills Historical Society and is housed in one of the classrooms of the former Mundaring School. The Museum shares the Old Schoolhouse building with the Mundaring Visitor Centre.

Our permanent exhibition space in the foyer traces the story of the school itself and of the students who passed through its doors. Other exhibitions change regularly and have included the history of Chidlow's World War 2 army camps, Mundaring's Geophysical Observatory and more.

Please note the Museum is not at the same location as the MHHS Office.
