Join BirdLife WA and become a citizen scientist by getting involved with the Great Cocky Count (GCC) – the largest survey of Black-Cockatoos in WA.
This workshop will provide training to volunteers to take part in the official count on the12th of April. Local ornithologist Simon Cherriman will also be a part of the conversation to share his insights and observations on the species’ breeding over the season here in the Shire of Mundaring and beyond! Emma Malloch from Perth NRM will join the workshop as a presenter.
Plus, we’re thrilled to announce that you’ll meet Princess Rex, along with Sam Clarke from the Kaarakin Black Cockatoo Conservation Centre.
Participants will learn about Black Cockatoo conservation and how to identify these magnificent birds while enjoying a close-up encounter.
Bring the kids along—we’ll have Eco-Educator extraordinaire Cathy Levett on hand to keep them engaged while you take in the important information.
ReWild for Carnaby’s Cockatoos is funded by the Australian Government Natural Heritage Trust and delivered by Perth Natural Resource Management, a member of the Commonwealth Regional Delivery Partners panel.
