Weaving Basics Workshop

(For adults)

Learn the basics of weaving and discover a simple, hands-on way to slow down and create something unique.

Whether you’re new to weaving or have tried it before and would like to build on your skills, you’re welcome to come along and explore at your own pace. The workshop is open to all.

In this interactive session, we’ll look at examples of woven pieces, explore different materials, and learn how to set up and weave on a loom. You’ll have the opportunity to experiment with colour, texture and pattern to create your own woven piece. We’ll also explore ways to incorporate reused and repurposed materials into your weaving.

Bookings are essential via Humanitix. Tickets are $20 each. Places are limited.

Light refreshments will be available. You are encouraged to bring your own cup for tea/coffee or water.

Please let us know if you have any access requirements.

About Hoop Hoop Hooray: Hoop Hoop Hooray was started by Elise as a hobby business over 8 years ago because of her love of embroidery and her desire to share her passion with others. With a background in education, she is an experienced, friendly, and patient teacher who has run numerous embroidery workshops with people of all ages and ability.

Due to the resurgence in mending as a response to the growing sustainability movement, Elise has been involved in facilitating Visible Mending workshops across Perth. Her aim is to normalise mending and build a community to inspire others, to save textiles going into landfill.
